59/66 - Dreamy African Painted Dog

Mixed media - Gelli plate print, mulberry paper collage and acrylic on primed watercolour paper

Image size 20 x 25cms (roughly 8" x 10") on 25 x 32.5cms (roughly 10" x 14") paper which could easily be cut down, or covered to suit once framed.

This Painted Dog aka Painted Wolf came about through only using a light blue and apricot orange + black and white, it is amazing the range of colours achievable with just these two as a starting point.  The background Gelli plate print dictated a very impressionistic and workable surface which was then added to with collage pieces and the dog eventually came to life through a few guiding lines from this.
