38/100 - Tiger Dreams

Mixed media on primed watercolour paper

29 x 38cms (roughly 11.5" x 15") 

I don't paint many Tigers as I've never seen one in the wild, only at Zoos, but as I had done a blue themed abstract background, I needed something opposite to that and felt a Tiger's colouration suited the composition (and I wanted to paint one - why not!).  This is a very made-up pose from my own photos and definitely has a more dream-like, ethereal quality to it - hopefully a majestic ode to an incredible big cat.
